Show us your S.P.I.R.I.T.! There’s no better way to show that you believe in the power of Crimson Karma than to participate in the 2008-2009 S.P.I.R.I.T. student campaign.

The campaign kicks off on September 1st and runs through December 31, 2008.

There is no set monetary goal for the campaign: our objective is 100% student participation. All we ask is that you give - what you can, where you can, when you can. With every swipe of an Action Card, we move one step closer to funding scholarships for first generation students.

SGA S.P.I.R.I.T. Scholarship Applications Now Available

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student with full-time status for fall 2009
  • Must have at least junior standing (minimum of 61 hours completed) in fall 2009
  • Minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a first generation* college student

*First generation is defined as students whose parents, grandparents, or siblings are not attending nor hold a degree from a two-year or a four-year institution.

Scholarship applications are due no later than Friday, March 27th at 4:45 p.m. Applications can be found on the Web at www.spirit.ua.edu or by stopping by the S.G.A. offices in the Ferguson Center.

Recipients will be selected based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, financial need and academic performance. The number and dollar value of scholarships awarded will be based on available funding.
